The Two Escooter Titans of Dubai: Inokim vs Ninebot
Ninebot scooters have taken over Dubai in recent times. Ninebots have proven themselves to be reliable commuter electric scooters in Dubai. However, recently I have noticed the uptick of Inokims in the streets of Dubai, I thought it would be appropriate to compare the two.
When it comes to the product line, Inokim wins 100%. Inokim has a range of electric scooters from off-roaders to basic commuter scooters. I’ve tried the OX and OXO, and their off-road capabilities are some of the bests I have seen from any electric scooter in Dubai. I haven’t personally tried them, but the light and quick 4 look to be some of the best commuter scooters on the market. The scooters definitely stand out. Ninebot scooters fall a bit more on the commuter side when it comes to scooters. The line they have is robust, however there isn’t any specialty like there is with Inokim. Ninebot scooters can be great commuter scooters, but just that. There is less potential for adventures using Ninebots.
At a price point, Ninebot is cheaper than Inokim. Ninebots range in price from about 1000 aed to 4500 aed. Inokims range from 3000 aed to 8000 aed. If you’re looking for a cheaper electric scooter in Dubai, the lower range of Ninebot is for you. However, I would recommend Inokim scooters if you’re looking for something higher end. Inokim scooters tend to be more of a bang for your buck as they’re some of the most durable scooters on the market. Higher end Ninebot scooters tend to be commuter scooters with more features, such as suspension and speed. Inokim offers this for the same price point and more durability.
When it comes to features and specs for the scooters, Inokim wins over Ninebot scooters. The Inokims generally come with more features than Ninebot scooters. They have on average longer ranges, more durability, faster speeds, more suspension and better folding mechanisms. The Inokim light is one of the lightest electric scooters on the market. I have friends that commute with their light scooters on the metro, and they tell me it's extremely easy. Higher end Inokims also come with so much more than some Ninebots. The Quick 4 comes with higher speeds, a wider deck and suspension. The OXO has one of the fastest top speeds in the game topping out at 65 km/h. The higher end Inokims are some of the best scooters for speed as the ride is so comfortable and fast. I wouldn’t compare the other Inokim to Ninebot scooters however, as the intended use for the scooters just isn’t the same.
The Inokim scooters generally have better portability than Ninebot scooters. I personally love Inokim's folding mechanisms. All of the Inokim’s have a fold and lock mechanism that is way better than any of the Ninebots. There’s a lever you kick to fold, and it automatically locks when you put it up or down. The Ninebot scooters generally have parts you have to fold out and lock yourself. I’ve encountered situations where the stem goes down when you don’t lock it properly. Personally, with my OX, it’s really easy to slide it into the trunk of my car or fold it so it takes up less space when I take it somewhere.
Looks wise, the Inokim scooters dominate. Not just over Ninebot scooters, but in general. Inokim scooters have a sleek design, come in different colors and don’t look too bulky and industrial as some higher end escooters do. Inokim has a unique design I haven’t seen with other scooters. The sleek design hides a lot of the technical components and makes the scooter really stylish. I love the look of the Inokims. Ninebots, on the other hand, look like any electric scooter. There’s no appeal to it, it looks like your regular old escooter.
There it is your comparison of the two favorite scooters of Dubai. The Inokims offer something unique when it comes to features, looks and style, while the Ninebots offer a premium commuter experience to all people in Dubai. Whichever you choose, escooters are the new and trendy way to get around, and I’m sure you’ll enjoy your experience!
