ScootUp: Dubai E-Scooter Race Highlights
The Dubai Escooter race was the first of it’s kind to ever happen. 16 of the best men and women escooter drivers in the world lined up to race for a one of a kind crown last month in the Dubai Design District. Some of the fastest escooters in the world were at the race, with top speeds of 140 km/h. ScootUp was present at this race, we talked to many of you, and met many people in the industry. The Dubai escooter race was something truly amazing!
The escooter race showcased state-of-the-art e-technology and the possibility of micromobility racing, represents a significant advancement in the field of micromobility. The competition, which is the outcome of a historic agreement between the Dubai Sports Council and the Federation for Micromobility and Sport, is anticipated to draw attention to the expanding discipline of micromobility racing.
The occasion showcases the UAE's dedication to innovative mobility solutions and is also a component of the nation's Year of Sustainability. With interest and participation from all around the world, the event promises to be a special and thrilling demonstration of the possibilities for fast micromobility racing in an urban environment. The Year of Sustainability 2023 was a committed effort aimed at adopting sustainable practices for a brighter future. The year's theme, "Today for Tomorrow," encompassed an extensive array of programs, events, and activities designed to encourage environmental sustainability and increase public understanding of the significance of sustainable development. The year's main goals were to conserve resources for future generations, strengthen efforts toward sustainable development, and raise public awareness of sustainability in a variety of areas, including waste management, energy, transportation, and water conservation.
ScootUp also had a booth at the race. We were able to talk to many relevant people in the industry and put our name out there. Soon, you might see Dubai Sports Council, Universities in the area and Dubai police driving Inokims around town for patrolling and other purposes. Many came to test ride our escooters, driving up interest and putting the Inokim name out onto the streets of Dubai.
All in all, the escooter race was a blast. ScootUp is honored to have been a part of the race. We made so many connections with our community, and we are thrilled to have met some of you at the race. We hope to participate in other escooter events around Dubai in the future, and come out and meet more of you. Happy riding!
